Your question really makes me wonder what is different in your set up
from mine. Although my home server is hooked up to a UPS, the one in my
car is not and I shut that off many times a day without powering down
and have yet to corrupt it. Of course I am careful not to do it while
scanning, but other than that, every time I shut the car off the power
to the server gets yanked. After a few years of this you would think if
it was a real issue, during play at least, I would have had a problem or
two.

Would you share what your set up is?

Thanks,

Howard
