The latest version of XPostFacto works with the Power book 2400 and
3400 using the original 603 cpu or G3 upgraded. What does this have
to do with the 6500 you ask? Those are the first 603 cpu machines to
boot osX and the 6500 came with a 603 cpu! On Ryan's XPostFacto site
there is a link labeled "Log" here he talks about what he is working
on etc. He has mentioned that he has an Apple 6500 machine and he
expected it to also boot with the latest software but it doesn't. He
also says once he works the kinks out of the powerbook machines the
6500 will be his next project.
All of the things you ask about PCI, Ethernet, Modem serial
port ( but not printing with the serial port) work in OSX on old
world macs. I seem to remember perhaps that Apple talk doesn't
work.... So it is possible in the not to distant future. L2 G3
upgrades are another whole subject and will require new software to
be written. That's about all I know. Hope it is of interest. Will S
