Just out of curiousity, why do you want to install it on a 601 machine? I don't recall seeing the original post. I installed X on a 200MHZ 604e machine and at that speed it was just useable. On a 601, I think it would be so painfully slow that the frustration factor wouldn't warrant the novelty of having gotten it to work. Anyway, I assume the 601 your considering is a Powermac 7500 w/ a 100 or 120MHZ 601. If this is so, I've got a 200MHZ 604e (upgraded that machine to a G3) card you can have for $10 + S&H that would help your endeavor tremendously. Mike
