Actually, you don't need a separate partition to
install X, although I recommend this. I ran it for
months with 9.1 and X on the same partition. When I
upgraded to an Acard ATA 100/133 IDE card and an IDE
HDD I then partitioned it and installed X on it's own
partition.
I currently run 10.1.5 on my 7500 with a a Powerlogix
G4 card rated @ 450MHZ. One thing no one mentioned yet
is RAM. The more the better. X seems to love RAM
(although it also seems to be more picky about it).
And oh yes, I would highly recommend the Powerlogix
400MHZ G3 card. My wife has it in her 7600 and it
works great with X.
Good Luck!!
Mike
