Since many people put in their 2cents to help Janice, I thought it would
be nice to sum it all up in one post and add a few tips of my own.

A condensed collection of tips:

1. Use OS 9x to install XPostFacto
2. Read the OSX info at <http://eshop.macsales.com/OSXCenter>
3. Keep a copy of 9x on a separate partition/disk, you may need it in an
emergency
4. Not all OSX retail boxes will contain a version of OS9 that you can
use. Newer ones may come with 9.2 which will not boot on a non native G3
mac.
5. After installed, you may remove the 9X partition (i recommend
re-reading tip 3)
6. Read the info at <http://eshop.macsales.com/OSXCenter>
7. Get at least 256MB ram/300+ recommended
8. Get a G4 upgrade if you can/ 300MHz+ G3s work very well too
9. If you shutdown your machine at night, install MacJanitor. If you run
24/7, don't bother MacOSX runs some cleanup scripts at about 1am,
MacJanitor will do it for you whenyour machine is idle.
10. You can run OS 9.2 inside of OSX on a machine like this, but you
must install over 9.1 while booted in OSX. The resultant monster will
work fine, but you won't be able to use that version as a boot OS. see
tip 3
11. READ THE INFO AT: <http://eshop.macsales.com/OSXCenter>

People seem to forget that last one :)
