I'm currently having the same problem - I bought one of those 128MB
"special" DIMMs for use with my UMAX J700 (with a Powerlogix Powerforce
G3 card) from SA Technologies at Macworld Expo in July. It didn't work,
the J700 would either lock up or it would turn on but without the
startup chime and hang. Neither did the replacement RAM they sent me
this week. However, to their credit Satech is going to send me two 64 MB
standard DIMMs to replace the 128 MB "special" and see what happens.

I had a similar problem with an FPM DIMM OWC sold me last year,
when they shipped me a replacement EDO DIMM things went real peachy :)
