It will be noticable, but not as much as getting the cache running, and it depends on the setup. For instance, the 17" monitor running at 1024x768, 100 Hz, attached to an ATi Radeon 7000 is noticably faster than the 15" monitor running at 832x624 75 Hz attached to the built-in video port with 4 MB VRAM in my 8500.
