I have used a Radeon 7000 in a 7300 box and unless you play games it does not help that much. It won't do OSX any good (not even on a beige G3). A faster HD does do OSX some good. If you get an ATA 100 or 133 card for the 7600 you can move it to a B&W or G4 later.

I have stopped spending on PCI Macs because they are too old (parts going bad) and prices on B&Ws and G4s are getting very good. I don't even want beige G3s any more; they are often very flaky.

My beige Macs are for running scanners and print servers on a slow OS9x network. I only support one beige with OSX at this point.

Hi listers,

I dropped an email here some time ago regarding my wanting to put together a decent 7600 based X box. Now I am not sure that I ought to.

Thanks for listening,
