Someone was kind enough to remind me of the firmware update needed for 
the VST 66 cards.  I found, downloaded, and flashed the card.  Now the 
drive shows up in X.  The installation is proceeding as we speak.  I 
shall let you all know how things go!  Thanks for the remind.

How do I wake up the onboard cache on the G3 card under Jag?  I think 
that there's some sort of .app that I run under X?
