Iam having trouble getting X installed on my 8600. It worked before,
but I added a bigger hard drive and am trying to get a fresh start.
    I dissconnected everything except the HD(ID 1) and the CD-ROM(ID 3).
The CD-ROM is terminated.
I partitioned the HD with a 2 GB partition which has my 9.1 system
folder on it. The second partition is 7.95 GB for X. And the third is 7.99
GB for my home directory.
When I run XPostFacto, it restarts the computer and I get to a white
screen with a crossed out circle in the middle. I have tried booting in
verbose mode, but that didn't work.
When I swapped out the CD_ROM with the CD burner that I used the first
time I installed it, it reboots in 9.1.
I have checked ID's, termination, and everything else I could think of.
Any thoughts?

Since you partitioned the drive with an OS X part of < 8GB, I'm assuming you are using an IDE drive and have the 8GB partition limit. If so, the OS X partition MUST be the 1st partition on the drive, in addition to being < 8GB in size.
