Quartz Extreme is not supported thru PCI slots and that's all you have in a Beige. If you have a Rev. B or C Beige, your video is already decent and you will get a much bigger boost in speed from that CPU upgrade. If you have a Rev. A Beige, then get a $32 used PCI Rage128 from Baucom Computers <http://baucomcomputers.com/>. It is the best cheap/speed video option for all Beige Macs.
It's a simple matter to enable Quartz Extreme on PCI slots.
$32 for a Rage 128 card is an absurdly high price - these things are $10 on eBay. I have one I would gladly give away. For $45 you can get a 32 meg Radeon 7000 and have *much* better performance - $53 for a 64 meg 7000. These are already Mac versions - no "flashing" needed.
