Then again, maybe you can.

I think the issue is pretty clear. But I felt like wrapping up my own personal
end of it. If someone wants to post this in a faq or something, that is fine. I
think this and the illustration get a creative commons share alike.

A Day in the Life of an Email
A short story.

Uphpu member #0 hits reply-to-all in his email client. The to field has the
address of uphpu member #1 who replied to a question someone had. Unfortunantly
he was completly wrong and thus this email. The cc field has the addresses of
the uphpu list and uphpu member #2. (who incidently asked the question in the
first place.) A friend of uphpu member #0, J Random, had recently asked about
the same topic. So he was added to the to field so he would get this email
also. An incredibly heartfelt and deeply moving message was typed in to clear
the air on this subject and the email was sent. A quick trip to uphpu member
#0's email hosting server and suddenly the email is copied and sent to each of
the four address listed in the email. A message is sent directly to uphpu
members #1 and #2 as well as J Random, who isn't on the uphpu mailing list. The
fourth message is sent to uphpu's mailman.

Mailman upon receiving the message, checks to verify that the sender is a
member of the list, then proceeds to send a copy of the email to each member of
the list. uphpu member #0 is sent a copy. Mailman notices that uphpu member #1
is in the to field and has probably got a copy of the message direct. Uphpu
member #1 has the default option to not recieve dup emails, so mailman doesn't
send the email to him. Uphpu member #2 has opted to receive dups because he
doesn't want list mail to get lost in his inbox and has list mail filed to its
own folder. Mailman sends him a copy although he was in the cc field. Mailman
then continues to send a copy of the message to everyone else on the list.

Many people are moved in one way or another by the message that more emails are
created, and the great circle of life continues on.

Orson
