Bizarre icon for an imaging program. What a great observation! I'll bet it was made by a humble C++ programmer type, because there weren't any designer types around.
This may actually help everyone decide! If the icon looks cute, it's probably built for a programmer to use. If you cringe in horror at the ugly icon, move on to a tool that appeals to your designer side.
