Hello Dustin, It's always good to have more than one implementation when trying to make a general interface. :-) As your weather DAO interface becomes more solid I might port the NOAA XML weather service implementation to your API.
I notice you still need to document units on methods in your interfaces like getTemperature() and getWind() that return a double. Also, I wonder if we should have enumerations instead of strings for things like wind direction and condition. Shouldn't humidity be a percent? Couldn't it be an integer or a double instead of a string? Where would you want the NOAA XML API implementation in your package structure? Do you want it in org.jasig.portlet.weather.service? thanks, Brad Johnson On Thu, 2008-02-14 at 17:28 -0700, Dustin S. icedout3e-at-gmail.com | JASIG-List-2| wrote: > The general consensus seems to be in favor of using AccuWeather so I > would like to proceed with implementation of this service and as I > hear more from AccuWeather I will update this thread.
