Hi Frank, Matthias, Daniel and all...

It does work..=).. (and actually very well too.) (Works also on other things than simple sphere..)
but I made a couple of errors in my description.. =(.. (was too damn tired.. )

After Step 5 Skip the rest..=)

After the 2 UVsets are Merged into one UVSet.. do this..
1. Rightclick in the UV-Editor and Choose 'Edit Faces'
2. In the 'Front View' Window, Drag select around the RightSide half of the frogmodels UVSet (if it was the LeftSide that you Started to set !)
3. In the 'UV' Editor you now see, You may have to zoom out abit, the selected UVSet Faces in the Leftside of the screen.. to the left of the Other half part of the UVSet
(You should also see that the Selected Faces, infact ARE correctly Mirrored..!, you just need to move them into place, to the right of the Other UVSet Part Faces..!)
4. When edited and all in place... Use 'Join Faces' Tool or 'Merge Vertex' Tool... to make the UVs actually connect... (Where you want it to be stitched together...)

So maybe yours is just outside of view in the UV-Editor.. ?

If not.. just tell us what happens after you have Duplicated and mirrored the SDS..and Merged the UVSets...
Dont you see the Faces of the one that used to be the other UVSet, in the UV-Editor ?
When you Duplicated and Mirrored the SDS, Did you use the DupMir Tool ?(If so its not what you should do, but Duplicate (Ctrl + d keys) the SDS in 'Object' Mode and Use the 'Mirror' Tool (o key))

hmm if nothing of this or what Matthias informed about.. and nothing else seems to help..
Do you mind attatch the Frog prj file? (If attatching on the list, save it with sections of only the needed stuff in it and zip the prj..) , if you have webspace then you might post the whole prj file..!
Easier to see if it might be a corrupt file or object...if seeing it..

Another late night.. hope I dont have missed in this one too.. bah ..=)..

Take Care

I did try what you describe, duplicate the sds with the uv sets and mirror it. But that is exactly what won't work, an SDS object with UV sets under it can not be mirrored. How do you guys solve this?

Have you tried to Duplicate the SDS...?

Maybe a possible way for you...
1. Duplicate the SDS
2. Select the Copy and Mirror it
(Now you have 2 SDS and with them each a UV set...)
3. Multiselect the 2 SDS objects and Use 'Merge Object' Tool....
(Now you have One SDS Object and inside it 2 UV sets)
4. Select the SDS Object Use 'JoinFaces' Tool...
5. Multiselect the 2 UV sets.. and use *Merge Objects' Tool...
6. Use 'Connect' Tool to stitch the uv faces together..
7. Finetune things in the UV Editor..

ok.. I am too tired to give better example..hope it dont have errors..
Hope it anyway can give you some own ideas how to go around things..

If someone find errors in my example or have better ways ..(hopefully there are simpler ways..) (the UVset really should be directly setup when using Dup Mir..)

I modelled a fairly detailed SDS model of half a frog. To change the frogskin from bumpy to smooth I used a couple of weighted UV sets. Now when I Dup-Mir the frog the UV sets are not duplicated. I would have expected so because in the hierarchy UV sets are hplaced under the SDS model.
How should I go about to copy the UV sets with the SDS model? Or do I have to make new UV sets for the second half of my frog?
