lol Thanks Timo that makes it really clear! No I'm just joking, I'm trying, and by the years I start to understand some things slowly. I'm still glad I liked math on highschool. But I'm afraid that to most artistic users, like myself, who have studied art school or something, this is a complete mistery. Even the notation is, probably common among code writers, very hard to understand. I always have to reread such a sentence many times, translating it into plain english word by word before I can understand it.
You know I've written some shaders, far below your level of course. A lot of times, I can't even reproduce from my own memory what I actually wrote to achieve a certain effect. But don't take me wrong, I like VSL a lot, despite the hard times to figure things out sometimes. The simplicity of other software is appealling, and makes is easy to get a quick result. But this simplicity makes stuff like the fog trick I found yesterday unable to reach. All the things I mention now are probably the reason that in big CG companies there's always a mixed team working on productions. Designers take care of the looks, the coders make it possible. Anyway, keep up your good work! Arjo. > It should have a Map > coords=map(coordinates) after Coordinates+=multiply(dpos,Ray) for it > to have correct map coordinates. >
