Hi Garry, it was meant: >>and even if you don't like it Garry ;-), I do not plan a > >runaway from RS. like: even if you do not like me on the list, I will post again. It was only kidding you, (<- full hit :-?) as said long time ago: whenever you're in Germany, call me for some good beer :-)
to Aidan I had a look in Blender, it's a really great piece of software. And I completly agree, that RS needs more in and out solutions. After some years RSing Rs is on a good way in my opinion. (my first in and out was with the Iges plugin from Rhinoceros to RS, really great because of the nurbs mesh im/export, no loss there). The next step was the great im/export collection from Michael Schmeling, thanks again at this point :-) (from RS to Zbrush and back to RS on my side) FBX in v6 is a really big shot, which will save much time. I do agree, too, with the "clean" bugs out. Maybe the featureset of RS is so big now, that's hard to clean out all bugs, because the developer do not get enough feedback, and have to check the most features on their own, which is very time consuming. On my wishlist is more or less a functional field evaluator and a faster Javascript engine, when working with hundreds of objects. Making the lattice mapping tool working as exspected, too. Hmmm, many things to say left... (and kidding Garry, too ;-) For "normal" work RS has all tools build in, and when it comes to bigger productions it's normal to use all available apps which can be grabbed to make live easier. That's my small opinion.
