Yes , same here . I asked how to fill the mapping rectangle with the smaller squares , not just fill the upper left-corner .
Hm, this is not what you asked specifically. The behavior of the finite XY is what I'm used to, so I didn't think of what you want to achieve.

To get what you want you must change the material (don't forget to reset the scale of the mapping object to 1, but keep finite XY set): -Open the checker material advanced tab. -Insert a Linear object as the first line in the Surface Properties -Change the output to Map Coords -To get the 0.2 scale: change the multiply values of the linear object to 5 5 5 Now you get a checker pattern inside the mapping area.
