Hi Henry,

Snapping is quite easy.
Let's say you've got two cubes and you want to create a third between them. 
-Activate cube
-Drag a box around a corner of the first cube (in a parallel view like top,
front or side).
-Adjust height with scroll wheel.
-Drag a box around a corner of the second cube.

When you drag around all the corners it will snap to the middle.
