Hello, 3D Coat is not a modeler. You can use the voxel tool to create objects from virtual clay, or you can use it add detail to any object (made in silo for example).

Other than clay object, everything else look terribly difficult to model, am I wrong? It's kind of the opposite of every other software, the most difficult objects (nature) are easy to model, but the simplest (mechanical) are the hardest. A better option would be Silo with displacement painting or better a software that I have used many times http://www.curvy3d.com/ Jean-Sebastien Perron www.NeuroWorld.ws Matthias Kappenberg wrote: > I'm proud owner of 3D Coat. > Really great one and a good alternative to ZBrush. > Much easier to learn in my opinion, > it's fast and has voxel support in the new version. > (Voxels can be converted to quadrangulated meshes) > And the toolset to create UVs is very nice. > If you've often to paint textures or organic modeling > tasks you should check out the demo download. > > Matthias > > > ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jean-Sebastien Perron" > <[email protected]> > To: <[email protected]> > Sent: Sunday, August 09, 2009 10:49 PM > Subject: Interesting modeling video > > >> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hn7eyg5ma6U&feature=related >> >> 3D-Coat, the user interface does look complex but it has some interesting >> features. >> >
