Thanks for showing how you would do it..
Yep that can do it for some cases.. (or for groups, drop each group of objs in 
own Level, then  just animated the channel (in this case LightSens..), for each 
Level..
(still its manual work..even if it eases things up, less places to set the 
values... but also less flexible as you pointed out)

Take links in a long chain...
Then its really nice to set a range of values from first to last (or what ever 
range one want to set) of these links objects.. all in one go with RangeZ
Especially for animation, as its a pain to set keys for all objects, and not to 
talk about editing keys in the chor win.. =)

  I'm slow. I would create VSL materials and give them to groups of objects. 
Then animate the constant within the materials properties.


  material/surface illumination/light sensitivity=constant(0)


  Not nearly as flexible as your plan Stefan!!
