Well, what i meant by word of Real GI is that: it's not have been done with post effects.. It is totally fake if it has been mabe by post effects. I think it is quite bad thing if (even that cheating gi effect with post effects) even fake GI is too slow, i dont dare to dream about real GI, how slow that might be?... Post effects aren't real. Post effects are old time. Like particle rendering it is post effects, it is too oldish (particle efects dont show in reflections etc..). There is lot of thing what realsoft needs to make better and what needs to be fixed and they are so far a way from other software makers' progress...
And i disagree, i think that realsoft hasn't keep their promises from "full-featured" it's not full-featured not even close to word "all in one" not even (all you need for simple things in 3d), which is the sentence what their websites are trying to say. But like i said, i hope everything good for realsoft for the future. I hope i will see better realsoft in future which would keep some awesome features inside so that i could came back for realsoft's user. I just afraid that realsoft isn't going to progress anymore with that speed what i expect. Every other softwares progress by developing so fast so i make my decision to change software which does it and thats why i have started to give my ideas for the big software makers which are progressing fast enough for my needs... Viestin runko I hope that this company will keep their promise in the future which is: "full-featured 3d software...". that's what i am looking for and what i will always be looking for. The key word is "full-featured"... Best regards, Juha M. You are harsh here Juha, it is 'full-featured' in the sense that it's a general tool packed with features, not a specialized tool. Your expectations are just too high, you can't expect a general tool to be as good in all specialized areas as the specialized tools that devote all their development time to this one area. For example: procedural skies and landscapes will never be rendered as convincingly in RS as in Terragen2 or Vue, because a landscape renderer is specialized in this area and has its own unique algorithms, and it took the teams years to develop and refine them. There are areas where RS excels, like architecture, industrial design, SDS (I saw some requests, needs updating?), the overall philosophy of openness, total flexibility and 'power under the hood', and many more... There are also areas where RS is infuriating ;) And by the way, RS GI is real GI - but slow... my 2 cts, Mark H
