I have been trying to export users and then import them in a new instance a
couple of times.
Each time I ran into trouble and it crashed the instance on which I imported
the users.
These are the steps I followed:
1. In my Prod environment (Author instance), go to Tools >> Export
2. Then choose the following options and export:
Repository : Users
Base Path : /
Keep version : unticked
Format XML : unticked
Compression : XML
3. Repeat step 1 & 2 for Userroles and Usergroups (using the same options
except for "Repository")
4. In my Test environment (Author instance), go to Tools >> Import
5. Import FIRST Userroles using the following options (this step went fine -
roles are present after import):
Repository : Users
Base Path : /
Keep version : unticked
File : chose corresponding file
UUID : Generate a new id for imported nodes
6. Import Usergroups by repeating step 4 & 5 (using the same options except for
"Repository") (this step went fine - groups are present after import)
7. Import Users by repeating step 4 & 5 (using the same options except for
"Repository")
This is in step 7 that everything goes wrong. It then throws an exception on my
page and my instance crashes completely.
There is obviously something I must be doing wrong in my export and/or import
of the users.
Please let me know if you have an idea. I could not find much about this issue
(I looked in the wiki, forum & Docu).
