Ok.... last thought. The cache code in Magnolia can be rather...sticky. It keeps returning old data well after the source changes. I actually turned it off in my site to stop that from happening. It's a performance hit, I know but at least the pages update in a timely manner. One way to test that is to restart tomcat (or even magnolia's public instance) and see if you get different results.

Sorry for the late reply I was not at desk.

Yes it was some problem cuz I changed the value of virtualURIMapping
from "/.magnolia/adminCentral.html" to "/riverFlyProject.hmtl". However
I have put the backup on and now you can access the main page at
ecodat1.freshwaterlife.org.
And Yes when I tried virtualURIMapping my root page was riverFlyProject
and also activated the changes :)

Cheers

I tried to access your site and see this:

/riverFlyProject.html -- 404 response
/ -- 404 response
/features.html -- page loads.

When you attempted the virtualURIMapping suggested below, did you have
your main page named features or riverFlyProject? If you are doing this
through the authoring instance, did you also activate your changes?

Hi David

That didn't work either. It gives 404 error "resource not available"...
But why does it work when I say
ecodat1.freshwaterlife.org/riverFlyProject when my root page is riverFlyProject and when it is features then it work on ecodat1.freshwaterlife.org

Cheers

Try mapping / to /riverFlyProject.html in the mapping named default under VirtualURIMapping. At this point, features is just noise you don't need to continue referring to.

Hi david
thanx for ur reply, yes it is 404 error. I tried virtualURI but I was trying from "ecodat1.freshwaterlife.org" to "ecodat1.freshwaterlife.org/riverFlyProject" just to get it working on

"ecodat1.freshwaterlife.org"

But I think should have tried it on "/feature" to
"/riverFlyProject"...
But wait... I don't think so it would work. My question is why ecodat1.freshwaterlife.org is pointing to features.html... In which file or somewhere else its been configured, I might sound stupid but I

just wanted to know. I am not very good at exploring all these files, if you could help me in this regard that would be great.

Onething more, my filesystem is like this /tomcat/author and /tomcat/public there is nothing in webbapps folder. Actually I have renamed It to something else so tomcat wont read it during bootstrap.
So how does it loads all the contents for feature.html?

Thanx anyhow for the help you already did :)
