Yes..... I go the answer... You have to change the value of
virtualURIMapping in public instance not in author instance to whatever
name is of your root page :)

Ok.... last thought.  The cache code in Magnolia can be rather...sticky.
It keeps returning old data well after the source changes.  I actually
turned it off in my site to stop that from happening.  It's a
performance hit, I know but at least the pages update in a timely
manner.  One way to test that is to restart tomcat (or even magnolia's
public instance) and see if you get different results.
