To use the DMS browser must the documents reside on the Author instance server or can the DMS browser read directory contents on the public instance? Also, did you investigate whether it would be possible to deploy the DMS browser on the public instance?

What we done, is writing a "paragraph" which renders an IFrame in which we call the external DMS browser renderer.
