ok,
just found i can test emails with the mail utility - doh!
anyway - still doesnt work....
i realised we now dont need to create a magnplia template so i created a
static html with the following in it:

the URI of the page is:

the URI of the static html page
now, if i change the types i get different messages:
type = magnolia := Could not send email:Error on line 13: The reference
to entity "body" must end with the ';' delimiter.
type = freemarker := Could not send email:Template
http://localhost:8080/author/docroot/simonsweb/mails/simonsMail.html not
found.
type = velocity := This is the url:null
all of these dont make sense to me.... one can see the template but seems
to think ; is needed, one cannot see the template and one sees a blank
URL....
which type do i need to use... this is an area that desperately needs some
documentation...

I don't know if I'm using the same version of Magnolia as you,
nevertheless, I just had a look at MailCommand.java (trunk) and it's
quite verbose,

There should be messages about its activity in the magnolia log, if
not, maybe try to set the log level for it at DEBUG and run your
workflow again.
