Quoting "Martin S. Weber" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:

You though should
 - remove dead code / support files (build.xml, build.bat et al)
 - update your documentation and release notes.

I'll be writing an issue for you to remember.

Uh.. it seems I won't. Someone used to JIRA should probably do that. To the above two points, add 'make bugreporting easier' and 'add webform to report bugs'.

I might add, trying to find something on your homepage is a constant source of furstration. How to submit a bugreport doesn't tell you how to do that, it's just telling you which data you should submit. But not *how*. There's no link on the actual site where you might submit a bug. Linking to JIRA itself gives the impression you have to install that.

If I follow the link to jira.codehaus.org/browse/CASTOR all I see is a big fat clumsy interface of browsing existing bugs and lots of reports. No 'submit' link. I don't want to sign up to yet another site. I want to report a bug, sheesh ...I'm giving up here :(

Sorry if this sounds unfriendly to your ears, but I'm frustrated that even such a single thing has to be that hard. Castor is nice with handling XML, but it seems to lose on about every other scale of project quality. The documentation is outdated and a mess of pointing to different versions. Things that are documented don't work or work another way. There's inconsistent style in the doc everywhere. Everything seems unorganized. It doesn't build out of the box, even following your suggestion. So.. I'm kind of lost here.

Sorry guys. I'm obviously too dumb for you.

-Martin
