probably is to prepend the correct addressing schema to the path,

Okay, moving the directory hierarchy over to a place whose parent
directories do not include spaces in their names ('C:\Documents and
Settings' in the previous case) makes the build succeed.
Oh my...
Should I open a JIRA Issue for that (now that I have my account :>)?
