I've just moved from using the binary version of lenya to using the src
version.
I think your having trouble as you are trying to use the binary version of
lenya rather than the src version.
It turns out you can't create a new publication with the binary version.
(You can canabalise the default publication in the binary version though so
you may not need to build from the src) If your requirements are such that
you really need to create and deploy mutiple publcations then building from
the src is the only way to go.
I'd start again. Print out the "installation instructions", "new
publications how-to", and the "deploy publications how-to".
Download the src zip file for lenya. (Ignore any bin or, did you mention
"windows installer"? zips)
Follow the instructions verbatim, keep to the suggetsed directory structures
if you can.
