Does anyone else experienced this issue on OSX or elsewhere? We don't have any code that goes and changes eclipse.ini or any other configuration on update. So, I am really puzzled what it is happening in your environmnet, but I don't have OSX here and can't reproduce it.

I would recommend to open a bug in Eclipse bugzilla, (runtime / Equinox / p2 component) and see what update manager folks would have to say about this.

 regards,
 Eugene

I upgraded my Eclipse to 3.4.1 a while ago, yesterday morning updated m2e to 0.9.7.20081001-2217 and don't have any issues on my mac 10.5.5 - everything works smoothly, I am able to start/restart eclipse and OS.

Mauro - I had a problem like you described a while ago: one of my users copied eclipse.ini from one version to another, so it was still pointing to an old library. How did you upgrade your eclipse?

I was upgrading from m2e 0.9.7.20080918-0025
(on Eclipse 3.4.1 - BuildId M20080911-1700 and OS X 10.5.5)

In general, I upgrade to latest releases when they become available - always via the update manager when prompted of new releases.
So, I would say I'm up-to-date with latest releases.

My eclipse.ini launcher/startup args are (before and after upgrade):
--launcher.library
../../../plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.carbon.macosx_1.0.100.v20080509-1800
-startup
../../../plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher_1.0.101.R34x_v20080819.jar

I've tried more than once to perform upgrade - with same result.

Cheers
