I used --nodeps.

So I have now gone back and removed the rpms and downloaded the src's, but
since I am a newbie, I don't know how to extract the files. If they were
tar.gz's I could do it, but they are tar.bz2.

How do I extract bz2's? What is the command? I used "tar zxvf filename" but
that doesn't work :-(
