I tried it Marius, and I got the following results:

[root@www /]# tar -Ixvf
/home/tmp/download/midgard-1.4-1/mod_midgard-1.4.tar.bz2
tar: invalid option -- I
Try `tar --help' for more information.


So, do I maybe have an older version of tar? rpm shows that I have
tar-1.12-9
