Okay, so that makes sense, as midgard-config does not exist in that
release. Ja, you'll be doing yourself a favour by grabbing current CVS
snapshots instead. You can get them from http://snaps.midgard-project.org/
(Developers are working on releasing the next stable release 1.4.2,
Alexander (branch maintainer) can update you on the current
status. However, as I understand it, he is having some connectivity
problems currently. I'm sure he'll update us on the status when that is
resolved.)

No, that is not possible. However, removing /home/midgard probably cleared
your installation properly. Try to get the proposed snapshots, and go
through the same motions again. This time midgard-config --report should
return something, and probably your earlier problems will be solved.
