No offence, but it's all good and well (and rather easy) to point out
the flaw yet do nothing about it. If someone is up to helping us to
clean up the documentation, nobody would be happier than me. In the
past I've even offered to give the person(s) writing the docs
prioritized one-to-one support in exchange for work on the manual.
Noone has taken me up on it.

OK, so get in gear. Seriously. Writing documentation and keeping it up to
date is hard and takes lots of effort and time, and time is exactly what
I don't have much of. Also, as you may also have noted, the manual has
blind spots, and that's because _the developers have blind spots_. Things
that are trivial to us because we've spent the last 3 years working on
them get forgotten in the manual because we forget it can be an issue;
IOW, we _need_ a non-developer to work on the manual _precisely_ because
it's a non-spoiled, fresh look on the matter.

Whoever decides to get the docs in shape can count on my full support
in doing so, and I assume Alexander feels the same way. See a
question asked and answered too many times? Pick my brain, write something
about it, put it in the docs.
