You can open the "Console" view in Eclipse and there open a "Host OSGi
console".

In that console you can enter "ss" go get a list of the installed bundles and
their states. There should be some line like

1112 <<LAZY>> org.apache.uima.deployeditor_2.3.1

Instead of LAZY it might also say RESOLVED or ACTIVE. If it only says
"INSTALLED", then some dependencies could not be fulfilled.
You can say "diag 1112" (use the corresponding bundle number from the "ss"
output on your machine) to see what's going wrong.

You can also say "help" to get a list of the available commands.

If the bundle does not appear at all, then Eclipse had some problem
locating/analyzing the bundle. Chance is that you see something in the Error
view of Eclipse or even on the command line console that you started Eclipse
from (if you started it from the command line). If you are on OS X, you might
see something in the "Console" application which shows all the system logs.

Cheers,

Richard
