Rana:
Fist off - my appologies for the delayed reply. Please see lots of questions and a proposal to you in-line.

I understand your frustration level. Please allow me to clarify my points.
I already sent many mails about the release procedure. But till now I did not get any clear answer.
Can you provide me with details (here or off-list)?
I don't know who is responsible to manage this whole thing.
As a project in incubator the Incubator PMC is responsible is general and you and Paul have operations responsibility. Aside from that you have friends and allies here in Avalon and on the Avalon PMC. Can we a take small step back and get a summary of the current status of the project? Who is actively committing? Is there a project specific mailing list establish? Has the PMC nominated someone to shepherd you though the incubation process? If so - who?
As the owner of the project if that is me then what is
the technical procedure? Even I don't know who is responsible to create a new CVS account or give CVS
update permission.
Sounds like you have a problem. The Incubator PMC is discussing aspects concerning process that would have helped you - but this is of little or no benefit to you now. What you need is some immediate assistance. The question worth addressing here is what that asistance should be and who should be providing it.
I see positive interest in the FTP project here in Avalon and I think the Avalon PMC carries a moral responsibility to ensure you get the support you need. I think (hope) Berin agrees with me here that we can provide you the support for sorting this stuff out either directly or via the Incubator.
Everyday, I got mails at my personal address about
download link, mailing list etc. Very few developers
will take the burder to get it from CVS. So a download
link will be very useful. I don't know what is the
appropriate mailing list. Is it avalon-dev or
incubator?
Technically you are a project under the Incubator (ie.. the Incubator PMC is the PMC responsible for the project and facilitating delivery of the things you need). However, I would like to make a proposal to the the Avalon PMC to bring you back into Avalon if you agree (at least temprorarily). My thoughts are that within this environment, and in the context of Avalon Components, you existing work and the community of interests already present here presents a more constructive environment.
We would be able to work together on getting a quality release in place along side other Avalon Component components, introducing the patches already discussed and posted on this list, and incorporating migration of the project to the released suite of cornerstone components. From that basis we could perhaps prepare a roadmap for the product - and through that process - establish the an appropriate and viable path forward.
Everybody in avalon-dev is worried about container issues. They don't really bother about applications built on top of avalon.
Certainly container topics have taken center stage - however - there are numerouse application activtities. The work from Alexis on the OpenIM platform is now very close to completion, Aaron's activities related to PhoenixJMS, concurrent inative on the web development front from Timothy and Peter, not to mention the work by the guys on the ldapd project. There are exciting time ahead and the way that Avalon as project supports these and other projects is an important question.
After seeing all these, now I feel that in few cases dictatorship is better than democracy. The avalon project is not a very good example of a well-managed project. In short, I am totally frustrated now.
Hope you understand my silence now.
Please let me know what your thoughts are concerning the points I have raised. I am ready to help you either here or over on incubator as you want.
Cheers, Steve.
p.s. I'm cc'ing the Avalon PMC because I think we (the PMC) can help you.
