Hello.

Making a brief appearance again! :) I'm out in Santa Cruz, CA right now. As
others mentioned, I'll be back by the end of the week.

Anyway, I don't want to take up too much room on the avalon mailing list for
JingDAO. There is a JingDAO mailing list (and forums) on sourceforge, but I
think I'm the only one subscribed to the list!

However, to answer a couple of the questions:

Status of JingDAO?

It's beta. I use it for some stuff at Sony. I have a new struts based web app
that will be going into production in February which used JingDAO, but only in
a "standalone" mode. I have another application that we're rolling out later
which will use it in Merlin.

It will not reach the stable "1.0" version until picocontainer reaches 1.0. I
don't know when that will happen. In the meantime, there will be quite a bit
of field testing on my part.

PicoContainer in JingDAO?

You don't need to know ANYTHING about picocontainer or even avalon to use
JingDAO. That's the idea at least. If you happen to know about either, you
can probably get away with a few tricks.

Merlin and JingDAO?

This should work. If you're having issues, send me the errors directly and I'll
look at them (it may take a week though). As I mentioned before, there will be
better examples of using JingDAO in Merlin, Fortress or even PicoContainer up
on the web site next month.

Okay, back to the roadtrip...
