but I really cannot understand what you are
trying to say here; is the problem with the
Apapche/Tomcat communication or wiht
Tomcat/Cocoon communication - can you access
the Cocoon page off of the :8080 port, for example
(bypassing Apache).

All you should have to do is place the
cocoon.war file in the Tomcat "webapps"
directory and then restart Tomcat...
 
Have you tried this and, if so, what errors
do you get when you try to access the Cocoon
main page?
