How do I enable the integration between Apache HttpServer and
Cocoon?
So that apache HttpServer will pass the control of XML files to cocoon
and return the processed content back to the browser?

tomcat as standalone?

Apache, and am wanting to visualize the folder/webapps/cocoon of the Tomcat,

All you should have to do is place the
cocoon.war file in the Tomcat "webapps"
directory and then restart Tomcat...
Have you tried this and, if so, what errors
do you get when you try to access the Cocoon
