I haven't seen much examples in the past two years of subjects on that list, that were promoted in the product's direction.
Maybe I just missed them.

Know idea about who watches that list or how ideas move from it to the larger project on my part, but in this specific case Uwe Fisher mentions that the feedback he receives will be compiled and forwarded to the dba developers. [snip]

No doubt about the importance to bring this special case to users/discuss@ ...

I suppose it would make sense to at least broach the subject on a main board and see where it leads.

... however little doubt here. Starting an important discussion and not knowing pretty sure that important players will join :/
But I'm fully open to let myself be conviced by the right info.

There is also the fact that from what I can see of the products development processes and architecture it is unlikely that any new feature can be requested and delivered without the sign off and efforts of individuals in multiple project teams. So it may be better to start in a more general list.

Frank, in, I think his first message in this thread, went out of his way to mention the relationship between ( or seperation might be a better term ) SUN and OO.o. With an aside to who is paying the lions share of the bills. Good points indeed. But truth be said this isn't really any different than a commercial product's vendor and their clients. We users can often be myopic in our view, and the vendor has to always make choices about what can realistically be implemented.

Fully agree here.

Anyhow, my bilogical clock tells me it is time to find food...so bye for now.

Enjoy it. My mechanical watch says it's time for bed since long. So more tomorrow.

Greetings
