Well, in theory, if a defect describes a missed requirement, its type should be changed to ENHANCEMENT. In practice, this might not happen all the time, admittedly. Anyway, I agree that looking at the defects might also give valueable ideas. I'm actually not sure about the best place to discuss this topic further. The general "which direction will the product take" discussion is perhaps best done in [email protected], though there certainly is more ... noise than in other lists. As for distilling requirements from issues (be it defects or RFEs), [EMAIL PROTECTED] might in fact be a good idea. Speaking strictly, we're not talking about QA here, but the people there have the most experience with IZ. > I suppose it is getting to be time to volunteer to help, then! > > One question as I move along here - the User Experience tem? Is that it, or is there some mail list that this team uses > separate from IssueTraker? It's a Sun-internal team AFAIK, and there's no dedicated mailing list. However, I think they're all reading in [EMAIL PROTECTED], so I really suggest you bring up the topic there. I'm sure that any volunteer help would be appreciated, and be it alone due to the sheer number of RFEs in IZ. If you carry this over to [EMAIL PROTECTED], please tell us. I will see whether I can participate there, though in the past, [EMAIL PROTECTED] quickly repelled me with its loads of, well, noise :-\ Thanks & Ciao Frank -- - Frank Schönheit, Software Engineer [EMAIL PROTECTED] - - Sun Microsystems http://www.sun.com/staroffice - - OpenOffice.org Database http://dba.openoffice.org - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
