Hi Juraj,

I have problem import MySQL table from one odb file to another odb with embedded database. Table has 270 kB and 2800 records with 10 fields. When I try "copy" in a short time all capacity of CPU is used by soffice and RAM memory and swap are full and after 20-30 minutes nothing happens. Only disk is running and running...

You should try running the mail merge / etiquette wizard with a pre-registered query containing only 350 tuples taken from a single mysql table and see how painstakingly slow that is ;-). In fact, it was so slow, we just gave up. The same symptoms seem to occur, CPU occupation hits the ceiling.

Compare this to the minute or so it takes to do the same thing with an Excel sheet and merge the data into a corresponding Word sticker template.

I can't solve your problem, but at least as far as I'm concerned, OOoBase still has extremely poor performance when it comes to doing normal office work things like making address stickers. I hate to point the finger at Java, because in other respects, things work quite well, and are fairly snappy, but I'm afraid I can see no other culprit, or perhaps there is : the integration of Java with OOo, i.e a non-optimized bridge for Base/Writer tasks.

Oh yes, and I forgot to mention : trying what I said above actually caused Base/OOo to crash twice, losing the query in the process despite the recovery tool.
