One question: once I do the above, if it all looks alright (except the
order of columns) and the data is correct, then will it have brought me
any closer to a successful import? Up to the stage described above, it
is still just "connecting" to the MSA database. 

Is it that once connected to a .csv file, it is easier for OO Base to
import the file, than if one were connected to a .mdb file?
