Hello,
I use Base to maintain the mailing list for our daily newsletter. The
mailing list is produced by a query. I need to be able to run the query,
highlight & copy the resultant list of addresses, and then paste that
address list into my Thunderbird address book. But when I highlight the
address list produced by the query, then when I paste it i.e. into a
text file, only the very LAST address in the list pastes. The rest are
ignored. So how can I accomplish this simple task, of copying and
pasting the entire list of addresses from the query?
Many thanks,
Swarup
Hello Swarup
You can not copy from the data grid view like that, as you have found.
You can do something else however.
A ) you can create a Base file that connects directly to your
Thunderbird address book.
File>New>Database | Select 'Connect to existing dataabse' | In the drop
down combobox select 'Thunderbird Address Book'
Finish and save this odb file.
B) Now you can drag a query from the embedded database ODB file to the
table section of this Thunderbird Address Book and the copy table wizard
will begin.
You will want to select 'Append data' and add the data to the correct table.
NOTE - The ODB file that connects to the Thunderbird address book will
open in read only mode if ANY mozilla product is opened at the same time
- this includes FireFox, so when you plan on inserting the new records
be sure that both ThunderBird and FireFox ( Seamonkey, etc ) are closed.
