That is unfortunately the same way it is playing out in the English based OOoForum - they like it - but they are having a hard time starting to use it and are looking for examples and more documentation. On the up side there is now a good, small but strong, group of what I call "responders" active on the Base board there and one in particular is jumping right in with helping people get started.
The not so good side is that there is a vocal group of individuals that just don't like Base at all - mostly these folks have a bad taste in their mouths from the initial releases of the module ( you can't lose peoples data, is all I'll say on that ) and don't really want to give it another chance - and given an opportunity they like to jump in and warn people not to use it - a couple of bugs that the SRB released with is ( date fields not formatting properly for instance ) leading some of them to once again pronounce the package sub standard and not acceptable for use.
