Hi Drew,

Here is what I am doing:

I am using OOo 2.3.
I am using Postgresql as my backend ( I couldn't afford to lose data).
I am also using Pentaho Report Designer. I can produce pretty nice reports using the wizard. What I am going to try to do is reproduce them in SRB. It appears the SRB is a neutered version of Pentaho. If OO had cloned Pentaho that would have put Base on the map aside from the problem of not saving data as each record is entered.

I will let you know where it goes.

sure - http://www.pentaho.com/ is the web site. good luck.
OK I won't to do that to you. The SRB is not a clone of their package,
and their documentation, IMO, is not particularly useful for it.

The Sun Report Builder is released with version 2.3.0. Now we need a
documentation how to use it.

Therefore we need somme people who have enough experience with database
and knowledge how to do a documentation.
It seems like users (at least in the spanish mailing list) have started
to try to use the report designer, but without much success, due to the
complexity, and the lack of documentation.

I haven't had my first fight with the Report Desinger yet, but for the
lack of docs I ask myself and you:

The RD has been a project on it's own long before it was adapted to
OO.o, as could be read in some announcements. So there must be a website
somewhere and on this website there must be documentation. A project of
this size will never evolve without any docs.

Does someone know the URL?

Marc
