hmmm- once again it seems the folks here have become violently in
agreement and we just don't realize it. Yet - here goes...with an
attempt to find the points we all agree on.

We all agree that there should be some link in the help files to an
example database.
Yes?

We all agree that the a help system link is most often used when for a
very detailed piece of information. For example, "How to I change the
scale setting for an image control?". Maybe even "What does the scale
setting on an image control do?".
Yes?

We all agree that the example database (or databases) will not be
created by the core developers, as it is an inefficient use of their
time.
Yes?

Anyone here disagree with any of those point?

Assuming the answers are Yes, Yes, Yes and No then one comment.

Regina is willing to do the work on an example database that satisfies
the second point above. I believe the proper response to her should be
- Thank You.

New - point ( following up on Frank's comments )

We all agree that an office suite that supplies a database component
should have an example of how to use that component to solve a typical
business function.
Yes?

We all agree that any solution to a business function by definition
includes some implementation of work flow. ( for example - Prospect
responds to add, place name in contact database. - Customer places
order, generate Invoice. )
Yes?

We all agree that using Base to do any type of business class
implementation currently requires some level of scripting.
Yes? ( may be that this is the first possible dissension point )

Anyone here disagree with any of these points?

Again assuming the answers are Yes, Yes and Yes then one final comment.

Who is willing to work on one?

What needs to be put in place to help get this done - as a collaborative effort?

Really - Honestly, beyond one person just doing this whole thing
alone, what do you guys that want a 'northwind' style database put
together need to get you to help with the project? Cause again it is
not going to come from the core developers. Nor should it.

Respectfully
