That sounds like a bug worth investigating.

Hmm, I thought that had been fixed ...?

For connecting to the database, the HSQL engine creates the .lck file
beside the .odb doc, and the error message looks as if this failed (yes,
the error message could point this out a better way - error messages are
neither HSQL's nor Base's strength, it seems).
