It seems like the fix (at least for 81896) was to provide an error message saying that the filename was wrong, but not to fix the lack of functionality ? And then, it couldn't finally be integrated into 2.4, but should have been integrated into 3.0 dev m33 (future 3.1) in October 2008 if I've understood the EIS entry correctly ?
